The Ninth House: The House of Dreams
The twelve houses represent twelve experiential realms, through which the energy of the zodiac sign is expressed. Each house represents a certain area of life experience.
The Ninth house is ruled by the zodiac sign of Sagittarius and by the planet Jupiter. It is the third of the four cadent houses.
The Ninth House represents our desire for union with something greater. It is a house of belief systems, religion and philosophy and challenges us to expand our horizons. This is a house that encourages us to probe deeper in our search for answers to life's mysteries, to extend our minds rather than accepting things at face value. Here we are encouraged to explore beyond our accepted understanding, as we try to discover the meaning of life.
Understanding and accepting that our actions can have far reaching implications for the whole of humanity is an element of this house. Higher education allows us to enhance the world as a whole
One of the ways we expand our own horizons is through overseas travel, which allows us to experience cultures that differ from our own. Language skills, dreams and inspiration are highlighted here. Additionally, the Ninth House addresses areas such as our own ethics and morals, the Law, publishing and multinational ventures such as import/export businesses.
The Ninth House shows our future generations such as grandchildren, as well as distant relatives and in-laws.
